Position Summary
Experienced in electronic assembly and hand soldering of standard mil-spec and high stranded wire cable assemblies, connectors, wired enclosures and interconnect devices for military and or aerospace applications.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Precision Hand Soldering under Microscopes for long periods of time
• Wire routing, cutting, crimping, splicing, cable forming with boots and tubing
• Mechanical assembly, Contact loading and connector assembly.
• Wire stripping and termination (crimping and loading) with close barrel contacts and terminals (coax and tri-ax is an A+).
• Experienced with soldering and crimping.
• Working knowledge of IPC-A-620 and J-STD-001 class 3 industry standard.
• Read and understand schematics, wiring lists, assembly drawings (blue prints), engineering or detailed work instructions, material lists and Bill of Materials.
• Use equipment such as soldering irons (with appropriate soldering irons’ tip), heat guns, hot tweezers, thermal and or automated wire strippers, solder type, pliers, screw drivers, cutters, tape measures, pull testers, rulers and calipers.
• Experience in Molding of cable assemblies is a plus
• Inspect and verify own work complies to the required workmanship standards
• Speak and read in English
• Have good verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with leads, supervisors, QC inspectors and Engineers.
• Understand and follow verbal instructions and be detailed oriented.
• Maintain a clean, safe well organized work-station through routine housekeeping.
• Familiarity with continuous process improvement techniques.
Education/ Qualifications
• High School or GED Preferred
• A minimum of two (2) years’ recent experience in soldering and electronic assembly under a microscope for military, aerospace and or medical applications is required.
• Experience and or certification to IPC-A-620, IPC-A-610A and or J-STD-001 Class 3 Soldering preferred
Physical Demands:
• Light lifting, up to 25 lbs. and the performance of job duties that requires seating down for a long period of time.
• Must be able to perform repetitive hand movements.
• Employee must be able to work in a fast-paced environment to meet production schedules and quality requirements.
